I said what do you see. He said I saw 2 men

running up the street towards Des Voeux Road. Before I saw

them run I heard a noise. He said they turned and one of them

threw something away. Afterwards they went along the Central

district along the tram line. That was Li Shek Yeung.

I then came ta Ngai Chuk Kwan. I asked him what he had seen.

He said when he was working outside the buildings he saw something and that somebody came up and threw something away and went along Des Voeux Road. This was on 11th.March.

on 13th.March the solicitor's clerk came to me again and asked

me if I had discovered anything. I did not wish to tell him at first but he said if you have discovered something there is no fear of your telling me about it. I said 2 of my fokis saw something. He said go and fetch the 2 fokie. I sent for the 2 fokis. The solicitor's clerk came up and he asked them to

go to a solicitor's office. My fokis refused to go at first. The solicitor's clerk said you need not be afraid, just go and tell everything you saw. They then went with the solicitors olerk.

To the Court.

I told the solicitor's clerk I did not want to tell him because I was a workman in Hongkong and it was better not to tell. That was the same reason that my fokie refused to go. It is better for a workman to attend to his work and not to interfere. That solicitor's clerk in Court is the gentleman Ho Cheuk (Hongkong & Shanghai Bank) recalled at request of Jury

I don't know the ricksha coolie who spoke to me. I saw
